Mixed Martial Arts Training
MMA (Mixed Martial Arts) is one of the fastest growing sports in the world, even surpassing boxing on PPV. At first MMA had two parts; jiu-jitsu and boxing. The objective was to make the other opponent vulnerable and exploit their weakness. Today most MMA fighters are well-rounded and show no signs of weakness in the game.
Strength and conditioning are the two most important things to achieve before stepping out on the MMA ring with the 3 X 5 Minute rounds. In order to start mma training, you need to focus on full body compound exercises rather than just doing individual components.
At first, the MMA training will have conditions that are so crazy when you start training that vomiting is nowhere near out of the question.
The whole objective of the MMA begins with both opponents standing on opposite sides, and their striking techniques can include punching, elbowing, kicking, and kneeing. There are also multiple techniques that are covered by MMA fighters:
Stand-up: Adapted from boxing and kick-boxing, and enhances footwork.
Clinching: Adapted from wrestling and improves clinching, takedowns, and throws.
Ground fighting: Obtained from Brazilian jiu-jitsu and wrestling. They strengthen submission holds, defense, and power against an adversary.
As you can see, Mixed Martial Arts can and will take a lot of you, being one of the most difficult sports that requires alertness and agility. But if you have enough background knowledge and plenty of discipline, then you should be on your way to becoming an MMA fighter!
